4×4 Offroad Adventure Club – Ten Year Celebrations

August 3, 2011

What a function! If you missed it, sorry for you. It was awesome. Thanks for all of the 80+ families that took the time to come out and celebrate with us on the evening. We were hosted by Hans Steinkopf (Dealer Principle) and his crew from the newly created Halfway Toyota Honeydew organization. They spoilt us with a stunning venue, great warm soup and 2 curries as well as the honour to experience the unveiling of the new FJ Land Cruiser. What a winner! Thanks for the great memento 10 year caps donated to all attendees too. Thanks guys! What a stunning ‘partner’ to have in the club.

The members arrived in droves, and with our specially invited guests and potential members plus VIP Suppliers, we topped 220 people at the event. We had great raffle draw prizes to the value of just over R147 000, and the Keenan family walked away with the top prize, sponsored by URI ADVENTURES. Were they stoked, especially as daughter Natasha spent her 16th birthday away from boarding school and with us on the evening. Dad was away on business, so Mom’s luck was in!

The great Kariba prize for the 10 year celebration was re-donated by the Cape Town winner and taken with a big smile on the night. The other top prizes of the Bridgestone Tyres, a Kalahari Adventure, three nights at Maliba Lodge in Lesotho, a Snomaster Fridge, Ranchero Shocks, Takla Seatcovers and much more, was a total blast in the raffle on the night.

We launched our new electronic logo, our new 10 year T Shirt design (order now!), as well as our celebratory sticker for your back window. Get your sticker the next time you see me. I have a few caps left too. Then the socializing was absolutely awesome. Great to see the Verwoerd, Goodway, Goss-Ross and Kruger families in attendance, as the only soon to be 10 year members (there are 2 others who were not there on the evening).

The presentation went down well and positioned our success over the 10 years. Thanks for the wishes from those who could not attend. We have had an awesome time over the last 10 years. Now for the next 10 years.

Winter is here, but we hit the outdoors and brave the cold. Have you booked for the 10 year weekend away in August at Koro Koro – it is going to be awesome and I still have space left!

THANKS FOR BEING THE GREAT MEMBERS YOU ARE. IT MAKES ME PROUD TO LEAD YOU ALL!!!!

Regards,

Alan Goodway
