Maliba Lodge: An Exceptional Mountainside Venue
Maliba Lodge is the first and only 5-star lodge in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Located in the Royal Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho within the Ts’ehlanyane National Park, Maliba Lodge is a tranquil retreat nestled deep in a pristine valley in the North of Lesotho`s breath-taking Maluti/Drakensberg Mountains.
Over 5600 hectares of untouched mountain terrain are protected within this park, which includes one of the very few remaining indigenous old growth woodlands in Lesotho and a wide variety of flora and fauna.
Maliba Community Development Trust
The Maliba Community Development Trust was established in October 2009 with the aim of advancing the educational, economic and social quality of the local Lesotho Community by increasing local employment and local capacity to put ideas into action.
The goals of the Trust are to identify, plan and assist with projects with the local community. This is complimented by the creation and improvement of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities while establishing and sustaining community facilities. Maliba Lodge, through its management and staff, provides additional funding, equipment, support and guidance for the various community programmes.
Maliba lodge contributes a percentage of all conference package rates to the Trust which ensures that the local school St. Felix Primary School, which provides education for 290 children between grades 1 to 7, benefits from your experience at Maliba.
Maliba Lodge Mountainside Retreat & Conference Centre
Maliba lodge offers a picturesque conference getaway to suit all budgets and is the perfect venue for small and large groups.
The venue is air conditioned and boasts a private bar area and restaurant and the idyllic views of the Maluti Mountains provide the perfect place to take a refreshing break from work.
The conference venue can be set up in a number of styles to suit your unique requirements. Depending on the seating style, the venue can host up to 65 delegates for a conference and between 10 to 64 delegates in our accommodation.
After a day’s work, delegates may retreat to the comfort of our various mountainside rooms and chalets. For meals, our executive chef and team, will delight guests to unique culinary dishes.
Maliba encourages delegates to take a brief break and embark on a guided visit to St. Felix Primary School which benefits directly from conference booking proceeds. These visits are available during school terms. Other activities which may enrich your conference include horse trails and hiking and may be arranged on request.

Accommodation
Mountain Lodge
5 Star Luxury Accommodation
There are 6 chalets in total and each room has underfloor and wall heating, fire places, TVs, and En-suit bathrooms. Rooms 1, 4, 5 & 6 have King size beds, while rooms 2 &3 have two ¾ beds. These chalets are 150m from the conference venue.
River Lodge
3 Star Accommodation
There are 4 lodges in total and each is designed as a 4 bedroom house with underfloor heating and wall panels, verandas and a separate bathroom. Lodges 1, 2 & 3 have 1 double room with 3 twin sharing rooms. Lodge 4 has 2 double rooms and 2 twin sharing rooms. These chalets are 1.8km from the conference venue. Transport may be arranged on request at an additional charge.
Riverside Hut
There are 3 of these huts in total. Each contains 1 double bed and has an en-suite bathroom. These huts are 1.8km from the conference venue. Transport may be arranged on request at an additional charge.
Mountainside Retreat Rooms
This accommodation is conveniently located within the Mountainside Retreat building, in very close proximity to the conference venue. There are 7 of these rooms in total, each of which has an en-suite bathroom. There are 6 twin rooms and 1 double room.

We believe that delicious meals are imperative to an enjoyable conference. Our Executive Chef and team ensure that all your culinary expectations are met during your conference at Maliba Lodge.
Conference Menu Options
We serve buffet meal options for groups above 21 delegates, and plated meals for groups below 20 delegates. While menu options may vary, below is a representation on the types of meals we serve. Our talented culinary team are able to adapt meals to suit most eating preferences and serving requirements.
