Lesotho. A country known for its majestic mountains, beautiful people, diverse heritage, rich history and also SNOW!!
Winter in the southern hemisphere is rather beautiful at this time of year. Being a “Durban” girl, im used to hot days and cold nights with the occasional cold front bringing in abit of rain and absolutely no snow. It’s a good thing that Lesotho is a mere six hours away.
The first snowfall of the season fell In the middle of May which was a clear indicator that it was going to be a good snow season. I was fortunate enough to be in Lesotho that weekend and the snow capped mountains were absolutely breath-taking at first sight in the mornings.
I stayed at Maliba Mountain Lodge-a five star establishment nestled at the base of the Maluti Mountains in Ts’ehlanyane National Park. Warm fires, delicious food and great staff are just some of the things that made up a good weekend.
